That staff proceed with a Request for Proposals for a five-year Animal Control Services Contractor.

Addendum

That Council direct:

  1. the Director of Engineering and Public Works to bring forward a public report on the process for, and resource implications of, developing a comprehensive bylaw for the protection of the natural environment that would regulate, prohibit, and impose requirements in relation to single-use plastics and other products; and
  2. the City Solicitor to report back in a closed meeting in early September on the advisability of the City seeking leave to appeal the Court of Appeal decision to the Supreme Court of Canada.

The application is ready to proceed to Public Hearing and proposes to allow for a 2.5 storey, multi-unit residential development.

A report recommending:

  • 1st and 2nd readings of:
    • Zoning Regulation Bylaw, Amendment Bylaw (No. 1202) No. 19-086

 

The purpose of the bylaw is to update the garden suite regulations to limit the conversion of new accessory buildings to garden suites and to reduce the maximum height of garden suites on "plus sites" from 5.5m to 4.2m.

  • Consideration of adoption of:
    • Storefront Cannabis Retailer Regulation Bylaw No. 19-053

 

Following third reading at the Opportunity for Public Comment on July 11, 2019, consideration of adoption can now occur. The purpose of this bylaw is to align the bylaw with the provincial Cannabis Control and Licensing Act and federal Cannabis Act and further minimize and adverse effects that storefront cannabis retailers may have on the safety, health, and well-being of the community.

The purpose of the bylaw is to authorize an agreement for rental housing for the lands known as 409-411 Government Street.
