MOTION TO CLOSE THE MAY 13, 2021 COMMITTEE OF THE WHOLE MEETING TO THE PUBLIC

That Council convene a closed meeting that excludes the public under Section 90 of the Community Charter for the reason that the following agenda items deal with matters specified in Sections 90(1) and/or (2) of the Community Charter, namely:

Section 90(1) A part of a council meeting may be closed to the public if the subject matter being considered relates to or is one or more of the following:

  • Section 90(1)(f) law enforcement, if the council considers that disclosure could reasonably be expected to harm the conduct of an investigation under or enforcement of an enactment

A Council Member Motion regarding the proposed establishment of a task force on Sexual Abuse.

Referred from the May 6 Closed Council Meeting

That Council requests that staff engage School District 61, to propose a partnership and offer municipal financial assistance to restore the Bank Street School building (1623-1625 Bank Street) for educational and community use.

A report regarding proposed amendments to the Streets and Traffic Bylaw to provide on-street parking free of charge, with a four-hour time limit, on Sundays for vehicles displaying disabled decals.

Addenda: Presentation

A report regarding options to motivate the salvage of reusable and recyclable materials from building demolitions to enhance the well-being of the community.

A report regarding Community Garden Micro Grants which are awarded to non-profit organizations to assist with the cost of supplies, materials, and equipment for community gardens.
