    • Business Improvement Area Rate Bylaw, 2023 No. 23-041

 


The purpose of this Bylaw is to levy taxes on taxable property located in the Downtown Victoria Business Improvement Area.

A report recommending:

  • 1st, 2nd, and 3rd readings of:
    • Patio Regulation Bylaw, Amendment Bylaw (No. 1) No. 23-052

 


The purpose of this Bylaw is to amend the Patio Regulation Bylaw to extend the date by which a business that held a permit under the Business Recovery from Pandemic Bylaw 20-072 on March 30, 2023 may occupy a sidewalk or street on the terms of that permit and in accordance with the requirements of that bylaw.

Addenda: Staff Report, Attachments, and Appellant Request 


A request for reconsideration of the May 4, 2023 Council decision from the owner of 2122 Cook Street and a staff report regarding the current conditions of deficiencies at 2122 Cook Street as were the subject of the report before Council and remedial action requirement order made on May 4, 2023.

MOTION TO CLOSE THE MAY 11, 2023 COUNCIL MEETING TO THE PUBLIC

That Council convene a closed meeting that excludes the public under Section 90 of the Community Charter for the reason that the following agenda items deal with matters specified in Sections 90(1) and/or (2) of the Community Charter, namely:

Section 90(1) A part of a council meeting may be closed to the public if the subject matter being considered relates to or is one or more of the following:

Section 90(1)(c) labour relations or other employee relations;

Section 90(1)(e) the acquisition, disposition or expropriation of land or improvements, if the council considers that disclosure could reasonably be expected to harm the interests of the municipality;

Section 90(2) A part of a council meeting must be closed to the public if the subject matter being considered relates to one or more of the following:

Section 90(2)(b) the consideration of information received and held in confidence relating to negotiations between the municipality and a provincial government or the federal government or both, or between a provincial government or the federal government or both and a third party.
