An update report regarding a Rezoning application and associated Official Community Plan (OCP) amendment for the property located at 824, 1900, 1907, 1908, 1924 and 2010 Store Street and 530 Chatham Street in order to rezone two city blocks from the currently zoned M-3 (Heavy Industrial District), M3-G (Government Heavy Industrial) and CA-3C (Old Town District) zones to a new comprehensive development zone to increase the density and height, and to allow residential and a variety of other uses. The report is recommending that the application proceed to bylaw readings and a public hearing be scheduled.


Update: The applicant has addressed the majority of conditions set by Council on May 16, 2024 but has revised the proposal which includes proposed deviations from the May 16, 2024 motion along with plan changes.  An update on the correspondence received from the opportunity for consultation on the OCP amendments is also provided.

A Council Member Motion regarding the implementation of a Trustee Electoral Area election model for electing school board trustees, and cooperation with the Township of Esquimalt in pursuing this model with the BC Minister of Education and Child Care.

A Council Member Motion regarding the City's Housing Strategy Annual Review, and the necessity of breaking down the data for non-market housing types and targets to guide more effective advocacy to other levels of government to support people requiring non-market affordable housing and vulnerable people requiring very low-income housing.
