Delegation Bylaw

• Adoption of:
  • Delegation Bylaw No. 23-079

 

The purpose of this bylaw is to delegate to designated City employees the authority to make decisions, enter into agreements, and execute documents on behalf of the City without a need for specific Council approval in individual instances.

Council Procedures Bylaw

• Adoption of:
  • Council Procedures Bylaw No. 23-061

 

The purpose of this Bylaw is to establish the general procedures to be followed by Council and Council committees in conducting their business.

Bylaw for 340-346 Mary Street and 247-253 Russell Street:Rezoning Application No. 00832

A report recommending:

The application is ready to proceed to Public Hearing and proposes to rezone the land known as 340, 344 and 346 Mary Street and 247, 249, 251 and 253 Russell Street from the M1-R Zone, Russell Street Light Industrial District, to the M1-RC Zone, Russell Street Light Industrial (Cannabis) District, to permit a storefront cannabis retailer.

Update report: Self Storage Facilities and Storage Lots for Vehicles

A report providing Council with two bylaws to amend Zoning Regulation Bylaw (No. 80-159) for the purpose of prohibiting the development of new self-storage facilities and storage lots for vehicles, excluding those that are currently in operation and any related active development applications and recommending that Council waive the Public Hearing.

MOTION TO CLOSE THE AUGUST 3, 2023 COUNCIL MEETING TO THE PUBLIC

That Council convene a closed meeting that excludes the public under Section 90 of the Community Charter for the reason that the following agenda items deal with matters specified in Sections 90(1) and/or (2) of the Community Charter, namely:

Section 90(1) A part of a council meeting may be closed to the public if the subject matter being considered relates to or is one or more of the following:

Section 90(1)(c) labour relations or other employee relations; and

Section 90(2) A part of a council meeting must be closed to the public if the subject matter being considered relates to one or more of the following:

Section 90(2)(b) the consideration of information received and held in confidence relating to negotiations between the municipality and a provincial government or the federal government or both, or between a provincial government or the federal government or both and a third party.
