  • Adoption of:
    • Cedar Hill Road Closure and Dedication Removal Bylaw, 2022 No. 22-081

 


The purpose of this Bylaw is to close to traffic certain portions of a public highway known as Cedar Hill Road and remove the dedication of such highway.

  • Adoption of:
    • Business Licence Bylaw, Amendment Bylaw (No. 32) No. 22-090

 


The purpose of this Bylaw is to repeal the Storefront Cannabis Retailer Regulation Bylaw No. 19-053 and amend the Business Licence Bylaw No. 89-071 to incorporate a reduced business licence fee and conditions for holding a business licence for storefront cannabis retailers.

Council is considering an application to increase the density and construct a phased residential development consisting of four new multi-unit residential buildings and three blocks of townhouses.

    • Streets and Traffic Bylaw, Amendment Bylaw (No. 13) No. 22-088

 


The purpose of this Bylaw is to amend the Streets and Traffic Bylaw No. 09-079 to reduce speed limits on local roadways to 30 km/hr.

  • Adoption of:
    • Business Recovery from Pandemic Bylaw, Amendment Bylaw (No. 3) No. 22-089

 


The purpose of this Bylaw is to amend the Business Recovery from Pandemic Bylaw to extend the duration of that Bylaw.

The purpose of this Bylaw is to authorize an agreement for affordable rental housing for the lands known as LOT 6, SECTIONS 29 AND 30, VICTORIA DISTRICT, PLAN 7956, Victoria, BC.

Council is considering an application to allow the continuation of a seasonal (October to April) youth cold weather shelter, known as the Out of the Rain Youth Shelter.

MOTION TO CLOSE THE OCTOBER 6, 2022 COUNCIL MEETING TO THE PUBLIC

That Council convene a closed meeting that excludes the public under Section 90 of the Community Charter for the reason that the following agenda items deal with matters specified in Sections 90(1) and/or (2) of the Community Charter, namely:

Section 90(1) A part of a council meeting may be closed to the public if the subject matter being considered relates to or is one or more of the following:

Section 90(1)(c) labour relations or other employee relations;


Section 90(1)(e) the acquisition, disposition or expropriation of land or improvements, if the council considers that disclosure could reasonably be expected to harm the interests of the municipality;


Section 90(1)(g) litigation or potential litigation affecting the municipality;

Section 90(1)(i) the receipt of advice that is subject to solicitor-client privilege, including communications necessary for that purpose.


Section 90(2) A part of a council meeting may be closed to the public if the subject matter being considered relates to one or more of the following:


Section 90(2)(b) the consideration of information received and held in confidence relating to negotiations between the municipality and a provincial government or the federal government or both, or between a provincial government or the federal government or both and a third party.
